STOWLANGTOFT BRIDGE CLOSURE
Work to replace the weak bridge at Stowlangtoft will commence on 22nd July 2024 and will continue until 20 December 2024, and the road will be closed. Traffic will be diverted via A1088, A14, A143.
In order to prepare these routes for a higher volume of traffic, reactive repair and vegetation works will be carried out prior to commencement of the closure. Suffolk Highways will inspect these routes shortly, assess the extent of required repairs and schedule these to be carried out.
In addition to the above, temporary advisory speed limits will be implemented on several of these routes, for the safety of local residents and as a traffic calming measure. Signage which will be placed along the routes.
Recognising the potential volume of queries regarding these works, a dedicated email address has been set up for residents. If you have any questions or concerns, please email A1088BridgeFarmBridge@milestoneinfra.co.uk and a response will be made as quickly as possible.
When the road is closed and a diversion in place, the route needs to be accessible to vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Diversions will be made as clear as possible by placing appropriate signing along the route. The latest updates on the works can be found on the One.Network website.
There may be times that essential emergency works are required to take place on the highway network without advanced notice – you can follow Suffolk Highways on Twitter for the latest emergency roadwork updates.
Any queries on the above, please contact 0345 606 6171.

The Parish Council minutes of August 2024 contained an error which has been corrected to show that Miss Smith and not Mrs. Smith made comment on parking in School Close. We apologise if this caused any upset or distress to either party.
